We spent the mid-day hiking the Garden of the Gods. Specifically, we hiked the Siamese Twins Trail up to beautiful rock formations. Whoever stacked these stones had some serious power. Similar to what is seen in Zion National Park, but not as grand. This place is a nature lover’s paradise...and there were a lot of them out today.
My beautiful bride and I. You can see Pikes Peak through the porthole behind us.
After a lunch and rest, we spent the afternoon hiking the park near their apartment, where we collected and threw rocks into the lake...one of the granddaughter’s favorite pastimes. They walk this trail daily.
Tomorrow, we begin our journey to Chiloquin, OR. We’ll overnight in Salt Lake City (Sandy, technically), along the way. It will be a very long day.
